Congratulations to all the women in the 2010 Denver Business Journal Outstanding Women in Business. A special shout out to Erin Seabold of The Seed. She was a finalist in the Small Business category. The Seed was created to unite women and resources around the world with the vision of growing into a successful international organization providing education and connecting women-in-business with the resources they need to succeed. This will be accomplished through innovative technology as well as our most exciting feature, resource matching. Way to go Erin!

Did you know you should have your own Realtor represent you when buying a new construction home from a builder? Here's why: -- First and foremost, the salesperson at the construction site sales office represents the builder only. That means they're obligated to keep the builder's best interests in mind, not yours! -- Using thebuilder's salesperson will NOT save you money. There's no additional cost to you to have me represent you in the purchase your new construction home – and in some cases I'm able to negotiate savings. -- I provide unbiased guidance on the many structural and design options available for your home. -- Should there be any concerns that arise after you move in, I can act as your advocate with the builder, if needed. Again, the builder's salesperson is representing the builder, not you. If you're interested in a new construction purchase, please contact me and I'll let you know how I can help you. If you visit a new construction development without me, here are a few things to keep in mind: Most builders request that you sign their register when you visit their model homes or construction site. You do NOT have to sign their register. If you do sign a builder's register, my name must be listed to ensure my relationship as your Realtor is honored. If you do sign the register, be sure to contact me immediately!

I saw this in Newsweek the other day. The people at Flipboard are definitely on to something. Now I just need an iPad!! "Things have been pretty wild around the headquarters of Flipboard lately. This tiny company (19 employees) launched its first iPad app in July, and so many people wanted to download it that within 20 minutes Flipboard’s servers were maxed out. Engineers scurried around trying to fix the problem, but after 36 hours, the only thing Flipboard could do was put people on a waiting list. Two weeks later it finally got everyone signed up. “It’s just an incredible reaction that we’ve gotten. We never anticipated it would be so instantaneous,” says cofounder and CEO Mike McCue."

I thought this was brilliant. A computer programmer has developed "anti-censorship software (that) is built on a sophisticated mathematical formula that conceals someone’s real online destinations inside a stream of innocuous traffic." The focus of the program is on helping citizens in countries like Iran surf the web anonymously. (source: Newsweek)
